BJP issues notice to J&K vice president for alleged “anti-party activities”

Srinagar: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has issued a show cause notice to a senior party leader in Kashmir for allegedly indulging in anti-party activities.

The notice against party J&K’s vice president and former legislator Sufi Yusuf was issued by the disciplinary committee of J&K BJP and he has been asked to submit a reply within seven days.

“Despite being a senior leader of the party and now occupying a very senior position, it has come to the notice of Disciplinary Committee of Jammu Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party, unfortunately, that you are indulging in anti-party activities,” read a letter issued to Yusuf by the party.

The party has accused him of creating dissent among the cadre.

“You have tried to create dissent in the party cadre with a few more persons and now your audio recording clip has surfaced whose contents depicts that you have no regard for party discipline and high principles which are basis of political ideology of the party,” the notice read.

The notice asked the BJP leader to submit his reply on his misconduct and indiscipline to the party within seven days.

In August, Yusuf, was part of a meeting of BJP leaders in Kashmir, which was attended by over 100 leaders who reportedly were annoyed with the leadership, especially top brass in J&K for ignoring them. A day after the meeting, J&K BJP chief Ravinder Raina said all issues were resolved with these leaders.
