JK : SIU issues proclamation orders against four active LeT militants

Srinagar :Jammu and Kashmir’s Police’s Special Investigation Unit on Saturday issued proclamation orders against four absconding active militants of the Lashkar-e-Toiba.

A designated and Special Court Srinagar under National Investigation Agency Act issued general non-bailable warrants followed by proclamation orders against the four active militants.

The SIU team of District Srinagar, with the assistance of police teams of districts Kulgam and Awantipora, affixed proclamations orders on their residences.

A police spokesman said the non-bailable warrants and proclamation orders were issued against Umais Ahmed Wani of Chawalgam Kulgam, Basit Ahmed Dar of Redwani Kulgam, Owais Ferooz Frestbal Pampore and Momin Gulzar of Firdose Colony Iddgah Srinagar.

Police said the non-bailable warrants and proclamation orders were issued after their involvement was established in several cases.
The Court through these orders has directed the accused persons to appear before it within the period of 30 days from the date of publication of proclamation, failing which proceedings under section 83 of CRPC shall be initiated against them.
The proclamation orders were pasted at the conspicuous part of their residences and contents of proclamation orders were also briefed to the family members of accused persons in easy language which they confirmed to have understood.
It is worth to mention here that the involvement of said accused persons is required in many cases of Kashmir Valley, police added.
