Army’s 92 base hospital hosts medical conference ‘on combat trauma in Counter Insurgency Ops’

Srinagar, Sept 9 :A two-day medical conference at Army’s prestigious 92 base hospital brought together thought leaders from the Armed Forces and academicians, professionals, and experts from the field of combat and trauma medicine to discuss the latest advancements in combat healthcare.

The 92 Base Hospital at Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar under the aegis of 15 Corps, organized a two-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on “Combat trauma in CI Ops: Changing Paradigms” as part of Kargil Vijay Diwas Rajat Jayanti Mahotsav 2023-24, Army said.

The conference was inaugurated by General Officer Commanding of 15 Corps, Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, in the presence of Lt General V Sabid Syed, Commandant AMC Centre & College and Prof MC Misra, Former Director AIIMS, Emeritus Professor, JPN Apex Trauma Centre, AIIMS, New Delhi.
The inaugural session was marked by a thought-provoking panel discussion on Tactical Combat Casualty Care. This was followed by a cutting-edge presentation by Prof MC Misra highlighting Advanced Trauma Life Support.

The conference witnessed faculty speakers from all over the country discussing various aspects of the management of combat trauma ranging from physical to psychological scars.
The event brought together thought leaders from the Armed Forces and academicians, esteemed professionals, and experts from the field of combat and trauma medicine to discuss, share knowledge, and showcase the latest advancements in combat healthcare, the Army said.

The CME attracted a diverse audience of over 120 attendees, including military personnel, Armed Forces Medical Services healthcare providers, and healthcare professionals from CAPF. Faculty and delegates from medical institutions in Srinagar also participated in the discussions and gave valuable inputs.
The collaborative atmosphere fostered valuable discussions, networking opportunities, and the exchange of groundbreaking ideas in the realm of combat medicine.
As the world faces evolving challenges in warfare and conflict, the importance of cutting-edge combat medical practices cannot be overstated. This conference served as a testament to the unwavering dedication of the global medical community to enhance the care and support provided to military personnel in times of need, the Army said.
