Baramulla :Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Kreeri headed by SHO PS Kreeri under the supervision of SDPO Kreeri at a checkpoint established at Tapper Bala intercepted a person identified as Mudasir Ahmad Shah son of Mohd Maqbool Shah resident of Chandseer Pattan who was travelling in a truck bearing registration number JK05D-3599. During the search, 7.3 Kgs of contraband Poppy Straw like substance was recovered from his possession. He had been arrested and shifted to a police station where he remains in custody. The vehicle was also seized from the spot.
Similarly, police party of Police Station Boniyar headed by SHO PS Boniyar under the supervision of SDPO Uri at a checkpoint established at Limber Boniyar intercepted two persons identified as Hasham Bashir Ganie son of Bashir Ahmad Ganie & Mohsin Mushtaq Lone son of Mushtaq Ahmad both residents of Ushkara Baramulla. During the search, 46 grams of contraband Charas like substance was recovered from their possession. They had been arrested and shifted to a police station where they remained in custody.
In addition, police party of Police Station Sheeri headed by SHO PS Sheeri under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Fatehgarh Sheeri intercepted a person identified as Parvaiz Ahmad Chopan son of Gh Rasool Chopan resident of Fatehgarh Sheeri. During the search, 72 capsules of psychotropic substance was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law are registered at Police Station Kreeri, Boniyar & Sheeri and investigation has been initiated.
