Digital Week Celebrations 2023: Series of Activities held across Srinagar District

Digital Technology pivotal for utilization of e-services and promotion of transparency in Governance: DC Srinagar

Srinagar: In the efforts towards digital empowerment, Series of Activities including Digital Melas, Awareness programme were held across Srinagar District to mark the celebration of Digital Week-2023.

On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, a number of awareness programmes were held in different Government Offices as a part of Digital Week Celebrations aimed at enhancing digital literacy among all the Stakeholders.

The programme were organized by various Departments viz Regional Transport Office, Horticulture Department, District Employment & Counseling Center, Chief Education Office, Assistant Labour Commissioner, District Industries Center, Rural Development, Handicraft, FCS&CA, Health, Banks etc to foster digital literacy, encourage the utilization of e-governance services and promote transparency in Governance.

During the programmes, participants were sensitized about the initiative of the Digital Week-2023 and to objectives.

Speaking about the weeklong “Digital Week-2023”, the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad said that the initiative has been launched to provide easy access to Government schemes and services to the people of District, and enhancing digital literacy among the people, besides adapt technological interventions to ensure citizens centric services on efficient, prompt and effective manner.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the Departments to continue programmes under ongoing Digital Week in order to educate stakeholders and provide opportunities to develop the better understanding of using digital technology in various sectors.
