Education for all: Kathua campus’s ‘donate stationery’ drive to fulfil dreams of underprivileged

Jammu:Initiating on the lines of ‘Education for All’ theory, the Kathua based Campus of University of Jammu have started two-week ‘donate stationery’ drive to fulfil the dreams of several underprivileged students at adopted village Kathera in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Rector, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu, Dr Meenakshi Kilam on Thursday said that a two week stationery donation drive-II has started at the Campus.

“The drive is aimed at providing essential learning tools to underprivileged children of the adopted village Kathera,” said Dr Kilam stating that the initiative reflects the commitment for bridging educational gaps and fostering a brighter future for children who lack access to basic learning resources.

“Education is the cornerstone of a thriving society, and every child deserves the opportunity to learn and grow,” said the Rector adding that many children from marginalised backgrounds face obstacles in their educational journey due to limited access to even the most fundamental tools and Kathua Campus recognises the challenge and always takes the initiatives to make a positive impact.

She reiterated that through this stationery donation drive, the institution aims to provide the children in the adopted village with the resources they need to excel in their studies and pursue their dreams.

Convener of the Stationery Collection Drive and In-charge Head, Computer Science, Kathua Campus, Dr. Sourabh Shastri urged everyone to contribute new or gently used stationery items such as notebooks, pencils, pens, erasers, rulers, art supplies etc.

He further said these seemingly small contributions can make a significant difference in the lives of these children, helping them to unleash their creativity and potential.
