Minor Boy Found Dead Several Hours After Lifted By Leopard in Bandipora

Bandipora: A 7-year-old boy was found dead this morning after going missing in a leopard attack on Monday evening in Nesbal area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

The minor identified as one Zaid Bashir, son of Bashir Ahmad reportedly went missing after being attacked by a leopard while he was coming back from a nearby seminary.

As the reports emerged, the locals intimated Police which later on joined the army’s 13 RR and CRPF launched a search operation to rescue the minor boy. After an overnight operation the lifeless body of the boy was found lying near a hillock in Nesbal village.

The news of Zaid’s demise has left his family in utter shock and grief.

In the backdrop of the tragic death of the minor boy, a local Sarpanch, Mehraj Rather, that there is a widespread fear psychois created by the leopard.

“We urge the authorities to neutralise the leopard at an earliest to allay the fear psychois among the public”, he said.
