LG Manoj Sinha performs Chhari Mubarak Pujan in Srinagar

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday performs Pujan of Chhari Mubarak of Amarnath at Mahadev Gir Dashnami Akhara on the auspicious occasion of Shravan Shukla Panchami.

Lieutenant Governor Sinha performed Pujan in presence of Mahant Deependra Giri, the custodian of Chhari Mubarak, the silver mace, in the Mahadev Gir Dashnami Akhara in Srinagar on Thursday.

”Prayed for the peace, prosperity and well-being of one and all on the auspicious occasion of Shravan Shukla Panchami”, LG office tweets.

“Performed the pujan of the Shri Amarnathji Chhari Mubarak in the presence of Mahant Deependra Giri at Mahadev Gir Dashnami Akhada. Prayed for the peace, prosperity and well-being of one and all on the auspicious occasion of Shravan Shukla Panchami”, the tweet said.

The annual 62-day-long Amarnath Yatra begins on July 1 from the twin routes of Pahalgam in south Kashmir and Baltal in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district and culminates on August 31 on the occasion of Shravan- Purnima.

Chhari-Mubarak shall leave for the main course of pilgrimage on August 26 from Dashnami Akhara Srinagar.

It will halt for the first night at Pahalgam. Enroute to Pahalgam, Pujan shall be also performed at Sureshwar Temple Srinagar, Shiv Temple Pampore, Shiv Temple Bijbehara, Martand Tirth Mattan and Ganesh Temple, Ganeshbal across the river Lidder.

Thereafter, Chhari-Mubarak made another night halt at Chandanwari on August 28, Sheshnag on August 29 and Panchtarni on August 30. On August 31, on the occasion of Shravan- Purnima, Chhari Mubarak will be taken to the Holy Shrine of Amarnath Ji to reach before sunrise and pujan shall begin with the rising sun.

“The True Trust”, founded by Mahant Deependra Giri ji in year 2004, has made all the necessary arrangements like yester years for Sadhus and needy from the general public coming from across the country to join Chhari-Mubarak Swami Amarnath Ji Yatra for their food, tented accommodation and transportation during the annual pilgrimage.
