First lot of smart buses to start operating from Aug 31: Div Com Kashmir

Srinagar : Divisional Commissioner Kashmir   Vijay Kumar Bidhuri Saturday said that the first lot of smart buses will start operating from August 31 this year.

He said with the operations of new modified buses in the city, the services will be a game changer in coming times.

Speaking to media persons here, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir  Vijay Kumar Bidhuri said that we have 100 buses in plan which will ply under Smart City Project. He said the first lot of smart buses will start operating from August 31 this year.

“We have already put in place a red colour smart bus on a trial basis. From August 31 this year, the smart buses will be brought on roads on a larger scale,” Divisional Commissioner Kashmir  Vijay Kumar Bidhuri as per KNS said.

He said this endeavor will overpower the inadequacy of transport services during evening hours in the city and peripheries. “We have constructed new bus stops at several places. We hope this effort under the Smart City Project will be a game changer in coming times,” he added.
