No split in party leadership, all “disgruntled” leaders now “satisfied”: Ravinder Raina

Holds one-on-one meeting with “disgruntled” leaders in Kashmir

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janta Party president Ravinder Raina on Thursday said that there is no split in the party and that all the leaders were satisfied. This comes a day after reports of cracks within the party leadership in Jammu and Kashmir due to some internal tussle.

Talking exclusively to Kashmir News Service (KNS) Ravinder Raina acknowledged that there were some internal issues among the party leadership as some of the part leaders from the Kashmir Valley had expressed dissatisfaction and step-motherly treatment being meted out to them.

He said that he held a meeting with all the disgruntled leaders yesterday and spoke to them one by one. “I listened to their grievances and they also listened to me. All the issues have been resolved and the leaders were satisfied after the meeting,” he said.

It may be noted that among the disgruntled leaders, whom Ravinder Raina met yesterday include former MLC Sofi Yousuf, J&K BJP spokesperson Altaf Thakur, Ashok Bhat, Manzoor Bhat, Asif Masoodi, Javid Qureshi and others.

Raina said that there is no split in the party leadership and all leaders are now satisfied as they have been assured all their issues and grievances will be resolved.

If sources are to be believed, the disgruntled leaders were unhappy with the working and behaviour of senior party leader Ashok Koul.

On being asked about resentment of leaders against Ashok Koul, Raina said that no one in the party is working for personal benefits. “All the leaders are for the strengthening of the party at the grassroots level. All leaders are working for the people and the party. No one has any personal agenda,” he said.

He, however, acknowledged that there was some communication gap and the party leaders in Kashmir were feeling neglected. “All the issues have now been sorted and the leaders are now satisfied,” he said .

A day before, reports were doing rounds that some BJP leaders were considering mass resignation due to some internal tussle between the leaders.

To address the issues, J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina reached out to the leaders in Kashmir and held late last night with them to address the issue.
