DLSA Gbl organizes Legal Awareness programme on NALSA Schemes

Ganderbal, July 18: The District Legal Services Authority, (DLSA) Ganderbal, today organised a legal awareness programme  on “NALSA Schemes, Concept of Free Legal Aid and Social Security Schemes”, at  Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Tullamulla, Ganderbal, under the auspices of J&K Legal Services Authority and as per the calendar of activities for the month of July, 2023.

The programme was held under the supervision of Chairman DLSA Ganderbal, Ritesh Kumar Dubey.

The objective of the programme was to provide knowledge and understanding of the NALSA schemes, free legal aid, and social security schemes provided by the government.

Adv. Asif Mustafa, Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel, of DLSA Ganderbal threw light on the various NALSA schemes to ensure the availability of justice to all, regardless of their socio-economic background.

He also emphasized the significance of social security schemes introduced by the government to help the vulnerable sectors of society, such as senior citizens, women, children, and persons with disabilities. He further highlighted how these schemes act as a safety net, ensuring basic welfare and financial assistance for those in need.

Bilal Ahmad Bhat, Social activist also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the role of DLSA Ganderbal and the importance of providing free legal aid to the marginalized sections of the society in building a just and cohesive society.

The programme was also attended by Principal Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Staff members, PLV of DLSA Ganderbal and Students of the institution.

The awareness programme concluded with a message urging the students to spread awareness about their rights and the availability of legal aid and support.

DLSA Ganderbal encouraged them to act as catalysts of change within their communities, empowering others with legal knowledge and advocating for justice and equality.
