47-year-old man comes under sand mound, dies in Handwara

 

Handwara, July 18 : A 47-year-old man died after coming under a sand mound in Rajwar area in Handwara of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district this afternoon, officials said.

They told GNS that one Ghulam Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan Mir, resident of Chaki Sarmarg was along with several other labourers when a sand mound caved in trapping him inside at Golipora Rajwar. “The onlookers after strenuous efforts rescued and took him to District Hospital Handwara where he was however declared as brought dead on arrival”, they said.

Confirming it, a police official told GNS that they have taken cognisance of the incident.
