Speaking at the event held in Srinagar, Deputy Commissioner Aijaz Asad said, “Under Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 we have completed all targets in our villages. It has 3 categories, first is Rising category, 2nd is aspiring and then model category. Srinagar has reached the model category and I want to congratulate the Rural Development department for achieving the targets”. He said that Srinagar district is among the 10 top districts of the country.
The DC Srinagar said administration is working tirelessly and it will be ensured that parameters described for model Villages and Panchayats will be achieved.
To a query, the DC replied that black topping in Srinagar areas are being carried out by the Public Works Department (PWD) and Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC). “Both agencies have their respective domains and are busy in black topping of the road surface in parts of Srinagar. Hope the macadamization process will be completed soon,” he added.
