Homeguards, JKACS organise Awareness/ Training programme on HIV/ AIDS & HIV Act 2017

Srinagar, July 6: In continuation to “Rolling Out Of MoU in J&K” from J&K AIDS Control Society (JKACS), an “Awareness cum Training Programme on HIV/AIDS & HIV Act 2017” in coordination with J&K Aids Control Society was today conducted within the premises of Divisional Commandant Homeguards Kashmir.

The event was conducted exclusively for lady VI-IGs of Homeguard units of Kashmir.

Area Commandant Homeguard Unit Srinagar, Amara Naseem and In-charge Homeguard Unit Budgam, Nazima Ahad also participated in the programme.

Firdous Iqbal, Divisional Commandant Homeguards Kashmir presented the Welcome address.

This was followed by a presentation from Dr. Mohammad Lateef Charoo, Sr. Medical Officer (ART) SKIMS Soura, Srinagar during which the participants were sensitized about the basics of HIV/AIDS, modes of communication and precautions/medications etc. thereof. He also had a detailed interaction with the participants regarding the theme.

Sabiha Iqbal, Assistant Director, Mainstreaming (JKACS)  gave a presentation and dealt with the corresponding legal aspects particularly about HIV/AIDS Act 2017.

The session evoked a good response from the participants and the queries raised therein were accordingly addressed to by the concerned JKACS officials.
