J&K govt issues instructions for obtaining, renewal of individual arms licenses

Srinagar, June 23 : Jammu and Kashmir Home Department on Friday issued instructions for applicants who intend to obtain or renew individual arms licenses in the Union Territory.

 
According to a circular, a copy of which lies with Kashmir News Service (KNS), the government has asked applicants to submit the application through online mode on NDAL-ALS Portal.
 
“An applicant should carefully read the provisions of Arms Rules, 2016, before submitting an application for obtaining the individual Arms license/Renewal of Arms license. Further an applicant needs to apply on the link http://ndal-alis-gov.in/ and choose ‘Individual” category by selecting the state home department and the concerned district or appropriate licensing authority,” the guidelines read.
 
It reads that applicants can choose any service being offered on the portal like issuance or renewal of individual arms licenses, extension of area validity and registration of arms license issued from other States and UTs. 
 
“The application portal would guide the applicant to upload all the details including the requisite documents on the portal. The status of the application can be tracked on the portal by the applicants. For any query, the FAQs can be assessed at https://ndal alis.gov.in/armslicence/fad.do.
 
The government further asked applicants to refrain from furnishing incomplete or false information while seeking or renewing arms licenses.
 
“Don’t furnish incorrect or false information. Don’t apply in a district which is not the place of your residence. Don’t keep the weapon with you in case you don’t possess a valid arms license. Don’t let any unauthorized person keep your license or your weapon,” it reads.
