Teenager Girl ‘Electrocuted’ in Keegam Kupwara, Dies

Kupwara, June 22 : A 17-year-old girl died after receiving an ‘electric shock’ at Keegam in Kandi of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district this afternoon, official sources said.

They told GNS that a girl identified as Mehbooba Jan, daughter of Ghulam Mohammad Ganie, an actual resident of Izz Gund Khumriyal, as per a close relative received an electric shock at her adopted home in Keegam Kandi, while cleaning the house. “She was immediately taken to a nearby health facility, where she was however declared as brought dead on arrival”, they said.

Confirming the death of the teenage girl, a police official told GNS that they have taken cognisance of the Incident for due investigations.
