Director Agriculture inspects various Pesticide Godowns in South Kashmir

Government ready to curb any Pest Infestation in the Valley: Chowdhary Iqbal

Srinagar, June 16: In response to various inputs related to leaf miner infestation in Kashmir, the Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal today visited various Pest Infested areas in South Kashmir and interacted with the stakeholders of the area.

The Director also visited the godowns of the pesticide companies operating in the areas to ensure insecticides sufficiency in the valley.

Iqbal said that the department is working in collaboration with the Directorate of Horticulture to curb any eventuality well in time. He gave assurance to the concerned stakeholders that the Government of Jammu and Kashmir UT is very much concerned about the crop health and shall provide every possible support to the farming community.

Director Agriculture impressed upon the field functionaries to remain in close liaison with the farming community and ensure availability of the insecticides at the sale out-lets so that the required sprays of insecticides are available to the farming community.

Director Agriculture was accompanied by Joint Director Agriculture Inputs, Mohammad Younis Chowdhury and Law Enforcement Inspectors of the area.
