Cultural Unit Kashmir of DIPR organises Seminar on ‘Cyber Security- Cyber Hygiene’ at Gandhi Memorial College

Srinagar, June 7: Continuing its drive to raise awareness among students regarding Cyber Crime and educate them to address the ever growing issue of Cyber crimes, Cultural Unit Kashmir of DIPR in collaboration with Gandhi Memorial College Srinagar today organised a seminar on the topic ‘Cyber Security- Cyber Hygiene’ at the auditorium of Gandhi Memorial College, Srinagar.

The session was inaugurated by the Deputy Director Information (PR), Bilal Mukhtar who was the chief guest on the occasion while as Principal Gandhi Memorial College GM Dar was the guest of honour.

In his speech, Bilal Mukhtar highlighted the role of Cyber Awareness in the current scenario and urged the participating students to understand the fundamentals of cyber technology in order to stay relevant in the present times. He stressed on the need of understanding the ever increasing ambit of cyber world and the cyber crimes.

Earlier, AE&CO Cultural Unit Kashmir, Syed Shakeel Shan welcomed the dignitaries and audience and threw light on the various challenges and problems  investigating agencies face in this world of internet and technology in Kashmir.

Students of Gandhi Memorial College including Atif, Mehvish, Omaik and Adeeb briefed the gathering about the growing online scams and data hacking.

The programme was attended by about more than hundred participants including students, faculty, social activists and officers of the Information Department.

During the Seminar, artists of Angels Cultural Academy performed a thematic play and dance.

Later, certificates of appreciation and mementos were presented to participating speakers, Principal Gandhi Memorial College, President Angeles Cultural Academy Tariq Shera and performing artists.
