DGP J&K sanctions Rs.1.60 Cr. Special Welfare Relief 

Srinagar, June 3: The Director General of Police J&K Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Rs. 1.60 crore as Special Welfare Relief for NoK of deceased police personnel /SPOs who have passed away while in service. The amount is sanctioned out of the Contributory Police Welfare Fund and is one among other various welfare measures of Police Headquarters with its endeavour to provide financial assistance to the families of martyr/deceased Police personnel / SPOs.

The special welfare relief of Rs. 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased Police personnel ASI(S) Omar Gaffar Malik, HC(Tel) Janak Raj, SgCt Nazir Ahmad, Ct. Mohd Lateef and Ct. Dheeraj Pagotra, Followers Naresh Sharma and Kewal Krishan. They passed away due to illness while in service.

Rs. one lakh each has been already paid to the families/ NoK deceased personnel for performing the last rites as immediate relief by the PHQ through their concerned Unit/Wing.

The DGP has also sanctioned rupees 06 lakh in favour of the family/ legal heirs of deceased SPO Paramjeet Singh, who passed away while he was engaged with the Police department. Out of this amount, rupees 50 thousand was already paid to the family/NoK for performing the last rites as immediate relief. The financial assistance has been given out of the Contributory Police Welfare Fund of SPOs.

Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families. There are also schemes for the wards of Police personnel and SPOs. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of martyrs, their wards and also for retired Police personnel and their families.
