Chairperson, J&K Hajj Committee reviews arrangements for Hajj-2023

Srinagar, June 1: The Chairperson, J&K Hajj Committee, Safina Beigh today convened a meeting of officers at Hajj House Bemina to review the arrangements for comfort and convenience of pilgrims scheduled to perform Hajj, this year.

The meeting was attended by Vice Chairman, J&K  Hajj Committee, other members besides Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Director Health, ADDC Budgam, ADC Srinagar, Director Airport Authority Srinagar, Hajj Officer, J&K Hajj Committee, officers of various departments including Immigration, SRTC, Customs, CISF, CRPF, BCAS, Police, Traffic and other concerned departments.

The meeting deliberated on agenda points including commencement of Hajj flights, reporting of pilgrims at the Hajj House, deployment of staff and machinery, shifting of X-Ray machine from Airport to Hajj House, issuance of Entry Passes, transportation of pilgrims by J&K SRTC, Custom/ Immigration clearance by Customs and Immigration Department.

Besides, the meeting also discussed security arrangements and traffic management, civic services, medical facilities at the Hajj House and the airport, free passage of pilgrims at the Drop gate of airport, issuance of Entry Passes for Airport, avoiding repeated screening of luggage and storage of Zam Zam at the airport.

Moreover, deployment of Magistrates by DC Srinagar/Budgam, boarding/lodging of pilgrims and dissemination of relevant information were also discussed.

Addressing the meeting, the Chairperson impressed on all the officers to ensure respective arrangements are put in place before the commencement of departure of pilgrims.

She instructed all to make sure that Hajj Pilgrims do not face any inconvenience and asked them to play an active role during the entire period of Hajj Pilgrimage.
