Atal Dulloo reviews Cluster Development Project Procurements

‘CSCs to extend agriculture services to farmers’

Srinagar, May 25: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Agriculture Production Department, Atal Dulloo, today chaired a meeting to review Cluster Development Project Procurements in Jammu and Kashmir at Civil Secretariat, Srinagar.

The meeting had detailed discussion on various aspects of the project procurements for the districts of Kupwara and Kishtwar. Besides, various issues including pre-production and production, post harvest management and value addition besides logistics marketing and branding were also deliberated upon.

While addressing the meeting, ACS asked the officers to identify the gaps and take appropriate interventions for effective implementation of Cluster development project in Kishtwar and Kupwara districts. He said that  requirements of small and marginal farmers are different from those of large farmers and interventions have to be taken accordingly. He said that a proper plan has to be framed for fulfilling the gaps in a coordinated manner.

He also called for constituting a committee for every cluster to be headed by MD HPMC which would be responsible for cluster gap assessment report, defining of interventions and terms of reference that should clearly reflect outcome and outputs.

Among others the meeting was attended by Secretary in Agriculture Production Department; Director General, Sheep Husbandry, Kashmir; Special Secretary (Horti), Agriculture Production Department; Director Finance (Agri/ASHF), AP; Director Animal Husbandry, Jammu/Kashmir; Director Sheep Husbandry, Jammu; Director Horticulture Jammu/Kashmir; Director Horticulture, P&M; MD JKHPMC; Mission Director HADP; Director Agriculture Jammu/Kashmir; FA/CAO (Horti). APD; Deputy Director, National Horticulture Board, representatives from SKUAST-K/J, Technical Officers (S) and other members of Grounding/Monitoring Committee for Cluster Development Project.

Meanwhile in a separate meeting, Atal Dulloo reviewed progress on integration of Kisan Sathi and Daksh Kisan with Digital Sewa Portal of CSC-SPV to extend the Agriculture services through CSC network of J&K.

ACS was given a brief account about the working of CSC’s while explaining how the integration will be helpful for the farming community. It was informed that through this integration, the department will get more applications benefitting a large number of farmers.

Also, CSC-SPV proposed to establish the CSCs in all agriculture field offices to extend the services to the farmers. Many farmers visit offices to avail the Agriculture online services, CSC-SPV will ensure to extend the services then and there.
