G20 delegates visit Mughal garden, enjoy golf in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 24 :  The foreign delegates of G20 Tourism working Group on Wednesday visited the famous Mughal Garden on the banks of Dal Lake, enjoyed a session of golf and also visited the refurbished Polo view market in Srinagar on the last day of a three-day event.The delegates played golf at the Royal Spring Golf course located near Chashmeshahi overlooking Dal Lake in Srinagar.


The delegates also meditated “Yoga” on the banks of Dal Lake early in the morning amid overcast sky.
Officials said the delegates visited the Nishal garden. At the garden several women delegates were seen dressed in traditional Pheran or a long Gown, headgear and traditional jewelry resembling Kashmiri women. They posed for lifetime memorable photographs in the Nishat garden. The delegates who walked through the Nishat garden were overwhelmed after seeing the mesmerizing pristine glory of nature with varieties of flowers sky high majestic Chinar trees making the atmosphere heavenly.
Later the day the delegates visited the new looking Pole view market which is the first pedestrian and wire free market in Srinagar.
Here they interacted with local traders.
The high profile third G20 Tourism Working Group Meeting kicked off in Srinagar on Monday amid unprecedented security. The three day G20 meet, is the first major international event in Jammu and Kashmir since 2019, when the erstwhile state’s special status was scrapped and it became a Union Territory.
