Ganderbal Police Booked A Poppy Cultivator And Arrested One Peddler At Naka Alongwith Contraband Substance

Ganderbal, May 19: To put an end to the use and spread of Drug Menace, Ganderbal Police is making consistent efforts by way of enforcement operations.

Today, on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS under the supervision of DySP Hqr’s Ganderbal Police Station Lar registered an FIR against one person namely Shams-ud Din Sheikh S/O Mohammad Abdullah R/O Watlar Ganderbal, who had cultivated Poppy/Opium plants in his fields. The special Police team led by SHO PS Lar recovered

Green Bulbs of Poppy & seized them on the spot in the presence of 1st Class Magistrate Lar.

Moreover, during Naka checking at Goriwan Lar, one person namely Fida Hussain Quraishi S/O Late Mohammad Younis R/O Chanthan Lar, who was coming from Lar market towards his home via hospital road in a suspicious condition was apprehended by Police team led by SHO PS Lar Gulzar Ahmad. During his personal search, Psychotropic substance was recovered, Seized on the spot & the accused got arrest.

In this regard, Case FIR No.s 32 & 33 of 2023 respectively, under relevant sections of law were registered at PS Lar & investigation taken up.

General Public has applauded & appreciated the Swift action of Ganderbal Police in eradicating Drug menace from the society. Ganderbal Police requests general public to co-operate with J&K Police, so that District Ganderbal will be free from menace of Drugs.
