Youth Week: Day 4 marks conduct of various activities at GDC Ganderbal

Ganderbal, May 18: Youth Awareness, Innovation & Entrepreneurship Games and an Open Mic Event were conducted successfully on the Day 4 of Youth Week, Youth Entrepreneurship Festival, at Govt Degree College (GDC) Ganderbal.

The day stood for convergence between the District Administration, Ganderbal and 24 Rashtriya Rifles.

The day started with the Financial Inclusion awareness programme in which  Syed Nageena, Regional Manager, Response Net, a financial inclusion project of RBI informed the youth from schools and colleges about the procedure to lodge grievances in case of banking system.

She also told about the Cyber Frauds happening and told not to share any OTP over your mobile phone to anyone.

Further, Bilal Ahmad Hakeem, Financial Advisor, SEBI introduced the youth to the concept of share markets and investments.

He said that we should be future ready and take care of our money by investing in quality equity stocks. He also informed about rules and regulations of investing in cryptocurrency and stock markets.

Further, Innovation & Entrepreneurship Games concluded with the last game of Cash from Scratch in which youth from schools and colleges simulated the concept of resource collecting, resource sharing, negotiation and sales and marketing skills. They collected the random raw materials and made saleable products and were given the assignment to sell the product for the real money.

The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Games are aimed at exposing and equipping the youth with the qualities of entrepreneurs and igniting young minds.

At the end of the day, to promote the performing arts an open mic event was held in which the youth of Ganderbal participated. The Youth showed their Story telling, Singing, Poetry, Dancing and other performing skills in the event.

The youth showed enthusiasm for the event and desired more events like this in future and thanked District Administration Ganderbal and 24 Rashtriya Rifles for providing the platform to showcase their skills. Indian Army sponsored the events under Operation Sadbhavana, which aims to win hearts and minds of people of Jammu & Kashmir

Fouzia, Principal, Govt. Degree College Ganderbal said that the events like this are a need of the hour and they shall surely help in achieving the aim of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
