Youth Week commences at Ganderbal

Event witnessed enthusiastic participation of local youth in various activities

Ganderbal, May 15: The District Administration Ganderbal today started Youth Week at Govt. Degree College Ganderbal here.

 The programme was formally e-inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of local youth, students, media persons, district officers and faculty members of Govt. Degree College Ganderbal.

Chief Planning Officer Ganderbal, Irfan Giri was chief guest and Principal GDC, Fouzia Fatima was guest of honour on the occasion.

On day one of the event, various activities were carried out including expert sessions on Photography, Painting and Calligraphy besides painting and calligraphy competitions. The event also witnessed musical concerts presented by College students which enthralled the audience.

The DC while addressing the gathering highlighted the initiatives taken for providing entrepreneurship opportunities to the local youth in the district which is today at top position when compared to other districts in terms of population with respect to the entrepreneurship activities being carried out by the locals.

He further added that the objective of Youth entrepreneurship in the district is to gather all stakeholders at one platform so that entrepreneurship Development Cell could be established at GDC Ganderbal which will be the central nodal point where budding Youth can showcase their entrepreneur abilities and share their innovative ideas.

He urged the participating youth to participate actively in expert sessions which are planned with the objective to give right direction to their creativity abilities.

He also appealed to all the stakeholders to join hands with the district administration to make the event a grand success which is the foundation stone for creating entrepreneurship environment within the district so that more avenues of employment could be generated for local youth.

He said district administration is making all efforts to engage local youth in co-curricular activities which is the most effective tool to keep them away from social evils including drugs which is also the vision of  Lt. Governor.

The event shall continue till 20 May, 2023 and during these days various activities shall be held like Innovation & Success Talks, Craft Challenge, Idea Pitching, Blue Chip Challenge, Idea Hunting and other activities.
