Nearly one lakh capsules recovered from drug peddlers in Srinagar last year

Srinagar, May 12: Last year, Kashmir capital Srinagar witnessed a surge in drug abuse cases.

At least 169 drug-related cases were registered in different police stations of Srinagar district.

The data as per the news agency Kashmir News Trust reveals that police last year arrested 286 drug peddlers and drug addicts from different parts of Srinagar city and outskirt areas.

Police seized Brown Sugar, Heroin, Charas, Fuki, contraband syrups and tables from the drug peddlers.

Various drug peddlers who were habitual offenders and apparently a threat to society were booked under Public Safety Act.

Data reveals that nearly one lakh capsules and 10,000 syrups were recovered by police last year in Srinagar from drug addicts and peddlers.
