Various delegations call on Lt Governor

Srinagar, May 11: Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir, Vice Chairperson, District Development Council, Kupwara called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today at Raj Bhawan.

Mir apprised the Lt Governor on various development issues of Kupwara including augmentation of health facilities, strengthening of road connectivity and promotion of tourism at Lolab, besides welfare issues of farmers.

A delegation of Voice of Peace & Justice led by its President Farooq Ganderbali put forth the issues related to youth engagement in sports activities and cultural exchange programmes.

Later, Executive body members of Bar Association Kupwara headed by its President Adv. Shafiq Ahmed Shah also called on the Lt Governor and projected various concerning issues of legal fraternity of Kupwara.

A delegation of Philosophy Scholars & Students submitted a memorandum of demands to the Lt Governor pertaining to the promotion of philosophy subject in UT.

The Lt Governor assured the members of delegations that the issues and genuine demands projected by them would be looked into earnestly for redressal on merit.
