‘Bandh Calls are now history in Kashmir: Dilbagh Singh

Ramban, May 10: Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh Wednesday said that ‘hartal calls’ are now history in Kashmir. He said there is all-round development that has been benefiting all sections of society and different sectors including the tourism industry.

Dilbagh Singh was talking to reporters in the Ramban area of Jammu and Kashmir after Inaugurating transit accommodation, and Joint Interrogation Centre.

In response to a question, he said that those responsible for Rajouri and Poonch attacks will be wiped out soon. He admitted that forces have suffered losses in recent militant attacks.

“The terrains in Rajouri and Poonch vastly differ, however, both are close to the Line of Control. Whenever there is an infiltration, infiltrators try to target forces,” he said adding that various successful operations have been carried out in Rajouri and Poonch so far.

“We have recovered weapons, drugs and even neutralized the infiltrators,” he said.

In response to a question, Singh said that it is difficult to ascertain whether the group involved in Poonch and Rajouri attacks is fresh or old. They are being pursued and will be eliminated,” he said.
