2 drug smuggler arrests in Baramulla: Police

Srinagar, May 4 :Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested two drug smugglers and recovered contraband substances and cash from their possession in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The accused drug smugglers were identified as Saqib Lateef Sofi a resident of Sempora Sopore and Adnan Naseer Bisati of Baghi Sana Badambagh Sopore were arrested at Dover crossing pattan during a check.

Police said 80 grams of contraband Charas like substance, 104 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon alongwith cash Rs 1,02,000 were recovered from their possession. The vehicle in which they were travelling to Srinagar from Baramull was also seized.

The duo tried to flee from the spot but were tactfully arrested, police added.

A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act registered in Police Station Pattan and investigations set in motion, they added.
