All Weather Practicing Nets to be provided to Youth at Jhelum Sports Stadium: DDC B’la

12 Two Wheeler with trained staff deputed to far flung areas for Cattle Caring

Baramulla, May 2: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today paid visit to Jhelum Sports Stadium Baramulla where she took an inspection of the works being carried out for the development of infrastructure under Aspirational District Programme.

During her visit, the DDC reiterated that district administration Baramulla has been applauded by the central government for its persistent efforts for the development of the district on all fronts.

She said that an award money of Rs. 20 Crores have been given to the district under Aspirational District Programme and various projects including augmentation of sports infrastructure have been initiated to boost the culture of sports in the district.

Speaking with regard to the Jhelum Sports Stadium, the DDC remarked that world class facilities are being provided to the youth at their home district so that they will not have to go outside states for practice. She further informed that the Stadium will have all weather practicing nets which is being developed at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.20 Crores.

Elaborating further, the DC briefed that apart from other sports facilities, dressing rooms and toilets will also be constructed for the convenience of the youth.

Meanwhile, Dr Sehrish also interacted with the local sports youth who appreciated the marvelous step of the DDC and termed it the first of its kind progressive step as they will no longer have to visit other states for day night practicing.

The youth also appraised DDC regarding other issues wherein she assured them that every effort shall be made to appreciate and felicitate these players at National and other levels.

She further said that the establishment of Jhelum Sports Stadium with these facilities in district Baramulla is one such effort towards the development of sports culture in the district.

Later, as part of Aspirational District Programme to saturate all the identified indicators, the DDC in presence Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Baramulla flagged-off the teams of trained staff with two wheeler vehicles.

The trained staff will visit the far flung areas of the district and ensure that the vaccination, Immunization and necessary medicines are provided to the livestock.

The DDC was accompanied by Joint Director Planning and others concerned.
