After Sri Ram, Cong has problems with Hanuman too: PM Modi

Vijayanagara, May 2 : In a scathing attack against Congress party’s resolve to ban Bajrang Dal if it comes power, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said after Sri Ram, Congress has problems with Lord Hanuman too as it has pledged in its poll manifesto to lock up those who chant Jai Bajrang Bali.

“Today it is my great fortune to bow down to this holy land of Hanuman ji and see the misfortune, today when I have come here to bow down to Hanuman ji, at the same time the Congress party has decided to lock Bajrangbali in its manifesto,” he said while addressing a public meeting here.

Modi also said: “Earlier Sri Ram was locked up and now they have taken a pledge to lock up those who chant Jai Bajrangbali. It is the misfortune of the country that the Congress party used to face problems even with Lord Shri Ram and now it is also facing problems with those who say Jai Bajrangbali.

PM Modi was commenting on the Congress poll manifesto which was released in Bengaluru in the morning. It promised to ban Bajrang Dal along with People’s Front of India (PFI), saying that these organisations spread hatred among and between minority and majority communities.

Launching further attack on Congress manifesto, PM Modi said Congress can offer nothing, but lies in the name of so-called guarantees as it has already lost people’s faith, and whose existence itself is in big danger.

In a caustic counter to the Congress party’s 40 per cent commission BJP government in Karnataka, PM Modi said the so-called guarantees given by the grand old party is aimed at swallowing 85 per cent of the money allocated to the schemes.

“The track record of the Congress is not of fulfilling guarantees, but of looting the poor. From loan waiver to the guarantee of providing electricity to every household … Congress has told only lies.

“Congress talks about guarantee but its purpose is something else … Congress’s eyes are on 85 per cent money of the schemes. We have to save Karnataka from the 85 per cent commission habit of Congress,” he said.

Modi said Congress is a party which has been rejected by every region of this country. “There was a time when the Congress used to boast that the whole of India is ruled by the Congress from the panchayat to the Parliament, but today the people of India have reduced the Congress to a few states,” he said.

Today, the Prime Minister said the Congress has a full majority government in only three states, but their hunger for corruption is not quenched from these three states. “That’s why they are keeping an eye on the earnings of the people of Karnataka. You need to be careful with this trick of the Congress,” he said.

Modi said during its decades of rule by the Congress, the gap between the villages and the cities had increased a lot, but the BJP government is constantly engaged in reducing this gap. “Today facilities like cities are reaching our villages as well… they are reaching at a faster rate than before,” he said.

Modi said Hampi not only India, but also the world is proud of, but the Congress, full of slavery mentality, never took pride in India’s history and heritage.

“Places like Hampi also had to bear its loss. It is the BJP government which is now preserving the historical heritage of Hampi through ‘Swadesh Darshan’,” he said.

Modi said BJP has resolved to make Karnataka the No.1 state in the country. The Sankalpa Patra released yesterday for Karnataka will pave the way towards building the great heritage and bringing true prosperity in the state, he added.

Modi said the double-engine government in Karnataka has worked in an unprecedented manner in the direction of ensuring social justice and social empowerment.

“Welfare of poor has been our top-most priority. We have been absolutely dedicated towards empowering the farmers; around 11 crore farmers across the country have been availing benefits under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana,” he said.

Modi said BJP has created the new district, Vijayanagara, a decision which has ushered in new progress, new opportunities for the state. “All I can hear from Vijayanagara, from Karnataka is ‘Ee Baari Nirdhaara, Bahumatada BJP Sarkara’,” he said.

Modi said the BJP is committed to bring development, furnish modern facilities and provide new opportunities in Karnataka. “We will keep the dignity and culture of Karnataka absolutely intact,” he said.

Modi said India today is among the top-5 economies of the world and BJP’s goal is to register as top-3 economies, and for this Karnataka has to play the leader’s role. “Therefore, we need to make Karnataka, the No.1 state in the country,” he said.
