Covid-19: India records 7171 more cases

New Delhi, Apr 29 : India recorded 7,171 more cases of Covid -19 in the past 24 hours, said an update by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday.

With the addition of these new cases the active caseload has climbed to 51,314 which is 0.11 percent of the total cases.

The death toll has risen to 531508 with 28 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours in various parts of the country.

As many as 9,669 patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. The total number of people who have recuperated from the disease is 4.43 crore (4,43,56,693)

The Covid-19 recovery rate stood at 98.70 per cent whereas the fatality rate was recorded at 1.18 per cent.

Meanwhile, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 3.69 per cent while the weekly positivity rate was pegged at 4.72 per cent.

The Ministry said 3,875 vaccine doses of COVID have been administered during the last 24 hours under the nationwide vaccination drive.

Around 220.66 cr Total Vaccine doses (95.21 cr Second Dose and 22.87 cr Precaution Dose) have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive, said the Ministry.

Meanwhile 1,94,134 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, showed the Ministry data.
