DGP sanctions welfare loan of over Rs 1.14 Cr

 
Jammu, Apr 19: In order to extend more and more welfare measures for police personnel and to provide financial assistance to meet their urgent needs, Director General of Police, J&K, Dilbag Singh sanctioned over Rs 1.14 crore of welfare loan & relief in favour of 100 officers and personnel of J&K Police vide Police headquarters order number 1326 of 2023.
Under this order, Rs 73 lakh have been sanctioned in favour of 70 personnel to meet the medical expenses for self-treatment or treatment of their dependents. Rs 29 lakh have been sanctioned in favour of 26 personnel for the purpose of their own marriage, and marriage of their sons, daughters. Three personnel have been provided Rs 5.5 lakh as welfare loan for higher/professional education of their wards. Further, welfare relief of over Rs 7 lakh has been also sanctioned in favour of 38 police personnel.
The welfare loan sanctioned to the Police personnel is refundable and is recovered in monthly installments from their salaries without any interest while welfare relief is non-refundable. The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund.
