Srinagar Apr 18: The Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K is organising the maiden sports conclave on 19th of the current month at SKICC here. Director of the Department Subash C Chhibber along with Joint Director Kashmir Waseem Raja and other senior officers of the Department took stock of the arrangement being made for the successful conduct of the first of its kind conclave. The sports conclave being attended by J&K Chief Secretary Dr Arun Kumar Mehta and other senior dignitaries is aiming at exploring means and methods by the ways of deliberations and discussions between the field staff of the Department to draw a road map for taking participation of Youth in particular and people in general to the next level.
While providing details about this unique initiative of the Department Director YSS has said that while acting on the directions of Chief Secretary of the UT this conclave is being organised in both the decisions. The Department has invited members of field staff which includes District Youth Services and Sports Officers, Zonal Physical Education Officers, Physical Education Lecturers, Physical Education Master, Physical Education Teachers and other allied staff to share their ideas on the occasion and we are hopeful that it would provide us with many useful inputs and ideas for nurturing sports talent in a more constructive and fruitful manner. ‘’ We are organising this conclave at Jammu also on 2nd May and we shall be inviting field staff of the Jammu division on the same lines’’ he added.
