43 Persons, Attending Funeral, Injured As House Collapses in Poonch Village

Poonch, Apr 13:  At least forty three  persons, mostly women, were injured after a house they were attending a funeral at, collapsed in a village in Poonch district, this afternoon, officials said.

They told GNS that the women had assembled at the house of one Zakir Hussain Shah in Khanetar village near High School in Poonch district to mourn the death of a woman. “In the course of time as more people poured in, the roof collapsed, leading to injuries to at least forty three women”, they said.

“All the injured were taken to nearby hospital for immediate treatment”, they further said.

SHO Poonch Ranjit Rao also confirmed to GNS about the incident. “All the injured persons are under treatment at a hospital”, the police officer said.
