Aadhar updation & enrollment progress reviewed at B’la

ADC calls for mass awareness to saturate the identified Blocks

Baramulla, Apr 12: To ensure timely Aadhar updation and enrollment to achieve the benefits of government sponsored welfare schemes, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Baramulla, Dr Zahoor Ahmad Raina today convened a meeting of concerned officers at DC Office Complex, here.

During the meeting, the ADC exhorted the officers to conduct mass awareness among the general public regarding updation of Aadhar cards who have not updated them since last 08 years. He asked them to conduct door to door campaigns and Adhar camps for Aadhar updation and enrollment in all the target areas in the district.

For achieving this target at grass roots level, the ADC stressed upon the officers to involve Anganwadi workers, Aadhar operators of ICDS Baramulla, CEO and CSC Baramulla for ensuring that Aadhar updation and enrollment in identified blocks are fully saturated.

Moreover, in order to ascertain/ensure that Aadhar has not been issued to illegal residents, illegal migrants and overstaying foreign nationals, the ADC stressed all concerned Officers of Baramulla to ensure that Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for document update in selected blocks is adhered to in letter and spirit.

The meeting was attended by Chief Education Officer Baramulla, Balbir Singh Raina; Chief Medical officer, Dr Bashir Ahmad Malik; District Social Welfare Officer, Nissar Ahmad Wani and other functionaries of concerned departments.
