Notorious Drug Peddler Booked Under PSA in Budgam

Srinagar, Apr 10 : Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday said to have booked a notorious drug peddler from central Kashmir’s Budgam district under stringent Public Safety Act.

“Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police have booked one notorious drug peddler under Public Safety Act (PSA) after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority”, said a spokesperson in a statement issued to GNS.

Identifying the accused as Fayaz Ahmed Ganie son of Late Abdul Ahad Ganie resident of Hanjibugh Magam, the spokesperson said the booked notorious drug peddler has been detained and lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu.

The said drug peddler, the spokesperson said, was involved in several NDPS cases registered in various police stations of the district and was promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of District Budgam.

“Despite his involvement in many FIRs, the drug peddler did not mend his activities”, maintained the statement.
