Market checking intensified ahead of Ramadan across district Ganderbal

 
Ganderbal, Mar 17:  In view of ensuing holy month of Ramadan, advance market checking was carried in various areas of  district Ganderbal which shall continue in all blocks of the district during the holy month.
Tehsildar Gund conducted a thorough market Checking in Gund market during which the erring shopkeepers were fined besides the rotten fruits and vegetables were destroyed on spot.
The shopkeepers and food outlets were also advised to maintain proper hygiene in and around their business premises.
The Department of FCS&CA along with the teams from Legal Metrology, Food Safety Department here also inspected various shops and other eateries at Beehama, Tawheed Chowk, and Gousia Market areas.
The entire operation was led by FCS&CA Ganderbal, to check the display of rate lists, sale of substandard materials, use of domestic LPG cylinders at various meat and other shops along with eateries and other business outlets etc.
Market checking was also conducted in  main Market Tulamullah area under the supervision of Tehsildar Tulamullah.
During these marking checking, traders and shopkeepers were given awareness of keeping quality food products available in the market at fare and fixed rates.They were also given counselling on spot as how to maintain standard of good quality products,weights and measures and fresh fruits/vegetables at their point of sale.
Shopkeepers/traders were asked to display rate list  besides maintain checks and balances failing which enforcement agency shall have no alternative than to invoke penal provisions against defaulter traders and shopkeepers.
