Budgam, Feb 25: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
During naka checking at Chadoora near grid station, police party of Police Station Chadoora intercepted one person roaming in suspicious conditions carrying one nylon bag.
On noticing naka party, he tried to flee from spot but was apprehended tactfully. During search contraband substance (Semi Grinded Cannabis ) weighing about 2 KGs concealed in the nylon bag was recovered from his possession. He was arrested on spot and subsequently identified as Muhammad Iqbal Wani S/O Noor Muhammad R/O Gamander Mohalla, Chadoora.
Case FIR number 24/2023 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Chadoora and investigation taken up.
