Winter Carnival 2023: Extravaganza Snow Festival celebrated at MundDaji, Rafiabad

Efforts being taken to tap the potential of Rural Tourism: Dr Sehrish

Baramulla, Feb 22: In a bid to explore and promote tourism in hitherto unexplored tourist destinations, Snow festival was today celebrated as part of winter carnival in MundDaji Rafiabad of Baramulla district by the District Administration Baramulla.

The event witnessed huge gathering of youth with enthusiastic participation of athletes and other stakeholders from across district.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar said that MundDaji and adjoining locations will be promoted as tourist destinations which will create opportunities of employment for local youth.

She further said that MundDaji has a huge potential to attract tourists from across the globe.

The festival evoked tremendous response from not only the locals of the area but from adventure lovers as well.

The locals were jubilant and lauded the District Administration for organizing a first of its kind Snow festival in MundDaji Rafiabad

The event witnessed colorful cultural performances, Snow sports activities like Snow  trekking, camping, sledge photography and display of local cuisine were the main highlights of the day.

Earlier, the Civil Society Rafiabad welcomed DC Baramulla and other districts officers at the gateway to Rafiabad.

The carnival evoked tremendous response and triggered a wave of enthusiasm among youth and adventure lovers to visit the wonderland of MundDaji in Rafiabad.

On the occasion various line departments had installed their stalls to showcase services being provided by the departments

Later, the felicitation ceremony was held during which various stakeholders were felicitated.
