Market checking intensified ahead of Shab-e-Mehraj in Ganderbal 

Ganderbal, February 13: Ahead of the upcoming festive occasion of Shab-e-Mehraj the special teams of District Administration Ganderbal have launched an intensified Market checking drive across the district.

The drive was conducted on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir to curb the hoardings and profiteering in Ganderbal markets.

The checking squad under the supervision of Assistant Director FCS&CA Ganderbal, Dr. Naseer Ahmad Baba conducted an intensive market checking in main town and booked several erring shopkeepers found failing to maintain the quality of food items, not displaying rate lists of essential commodities, selling expiry products, besides indulging in practices of illegal profiteering and sale of underweight products.

 

During the market checking fines were imposed on the erring shopkeepers and rotten vegetables and other items were destroyed on the spot.
