Police organises Thana Diwas at various Police establishments across Kashmir valley

Budgam Police observed ‘Thana Diwas’ at Police Station Charar Shareef, Police Station Budgam & Police Station Magam

Budgam, Feb 9:  As a part of Public outreach programme, Budgam Police today organized *’Thana Diwas’* at Police Station Charar Shareef, Police Station Budgam & Police Station Magam.

At Police Station Charar Shareef, the event was chaired by SDPO Charar Shareef *Shri Salim Jahangir -JKPS* along with SHO Police Station Charar Shareef *Inspr. Muneer Ahmad*.Respectables of Charar Shareef and other adjacent areas attended the event.

During the event, issues of public interest were discussed among which the issues like Drug menace, rising social evils and public services delivery received comparatively larger attention. During the event, all the grievances were heard and were segregated on the basis of area of action and jurisdiction.The attendees were assured that all the grievances pertaining to Police department will be dealt as per law and remaining grievances lying outside the domain of Police department will be taken up with the concerned departments under laid down procedure. During the event, the cooperation of general public in eradication of Drug abuse, social crimes etc was sought. It was said that these events play an instrumental role in bridging the vacuum between Police and General Public and transforming police force into responsible, transparent, accountable and sensitive to public demands.

At Police Station Budgam *Thana Diwas”* was observed which was chaired by SHO PS Budgam *Insp.Aftab Lone* The event was attended by respectable citizens of Budgam and other adjacent areas of Budgam.

During the event, some issues were raised by the participants like shortage of drinking water, unscheduled power cuts, drug menace etc .The chairing officer assured them that their genuine issues will be taken up with the higher ups for their early redressal.

Similarly at Police Station Magam, *Thana Diwas”* was observed which was chaired by SHO Police Station Magam *Insp.Yasir Rashid* The meeting was attended by respectables of Magam and adjoining areas.

During the meeting, participants highlighted various issues of public importance like road development,water shortages, power supply etc.They were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority.

Kulgam Police observed Thana Diwas

Kulgam, Feb 9: Kulgam Police continuing its Public outreach programme today held ‘Thana Diwas’ functions at Police station Yaripora, Police Station Behibagh and Police station Manzgam, chaired by respective jurisdictional Police officers in which PRIs, Sarpanches, Panchs, Respectable citizens, civil societies of concerned areas including members of Auqaf Committees, Numberdars, Chowkidars,Traders Federation and Transporters of respective areas participated.

During the meetings, participants highlighted various issues of public importance, and they were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and that of civil administration will be taken up with the concerned Departments for their early redressal. While speaking on the occasion , it was reiterated that the main aim of organising ‘ Thana Diwas’ is to improve efficiency, transparency and accountability in Policing at grassroot level and to hear and redress grievances of general public, besides seek support and active cooperation in maintaining L&O, curbing drug menace and others social evils in the areas.

The participants were also stressed to co-operate with Kulgam Police in identifying anti-national and

anti-social elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment in the district. The participants appreciated the role of Police for conducting such interactive meetings which further boost Community Policing and Public confidence.

Pulwama Police observed Thana Diwas across the district

Pulwama, Feb 9 : Continuing its public outreach programme, Pulwama Police observed ‘Thana Divas’ at all Police Stations including Police Station Kakapora, Rajpora, Litter & PP Newa of the district. The programme was chaired by concerned supervisory officers. The meetings were attended by respectable citizens, members of Auqaf Committees, Numberdars, Chowkidars, Traders Federation and Transporters of respective areas.

During the meetings, participants raised various issues of public importance. Chairing officers assured them that their grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and the grievances pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with the concerned Departments for their early redressal. While speaking on the occasions, it was reiterated that Thana Divas is an initiative to bridge the gap between Police and Public and also to hear and redress the grievances of common masses and further added that Community policing is mandatory to boost public confidence which would help in fighting against crime and social evils.

The participants were requested to co-operate with Police in maintaining Law and Order in the area and identifying Anti-National and Anti-Social elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment. The participants appreciated the role of Police for conducting such interactive meetings which further boost community Policing and

 

Thana Diwas Observed By Ganderbal Police Across The District

Ganderbal, Feb 9 :As part of Public outreach programme, Thana Diwas; an initiative of Government of J&K, was observed by Ganderbal Police in all Police Establishments across the District.

The Main Event was organised at PS Ganderbal in which SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS Chaired the meeting & heard the grievances of the general public of District Ganderbal. Moreover, under the directions of SSP Ganderbal, SDPO Kangan Shri Muzaffar Jan-JKPS, DySP Headquarters Ganderbal Shri Gh Hassan-JKPS and SHO’s/DO’s also held the meeting in their respective subdivisions in which DDCs, BDCs, Sarpanchs, Panchs and General Public participated.

In the event, general public participated and highlighted various issues of public importance, and they were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and that of civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal.

While speaking on the occasion, SSP Ganderbal & other Officers stated that policing at the grassroot level in the district would be revamped to enhance proficiencies of the cops and to develop confidence among the people.
Further, Chairing officers while speaking on the occasion, said that Thana Diwas is an initiative to bridge the gap between Police and Public, to hear & redress the grievances of common masses and further added that Community policing is mandatory to boost public confidence which would help in fighting against crime and social evils.

Referring to the criminal activities in the area, it was stressed upon the officers to brace up with a missionary spirit to fight against drug abuse and eradicate other social evils from the society and to take a pledge to serve the society with missionary spirit and maintain the dignity of force. The participants were requested to co-operate with Police in maintaining law and order in the area and identifying Anti National and Anti Social Elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment.

Finally, the event was concluded with the vote of thanks from both sides.
