Dr Darakhshan chairs 6th Administrative Meeting of J&K Waqf Board in Jammu

Jammu, Feb 7: Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board Chairperson Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today chaired 6th Administrative Meeting of J&K Waqf Board held at Jammu. Review of the finances and administrative plans of the Board was done and many new decisions were taken for further reforms in the working system of the Board. Waqf Board members Dr Ghulam Nabi Haleem, Sohail Kazmi, Nawab Din & Syed Mohammad Hussain Haqqani were also present. Waqf Board Chief Executive Officer Dr Syed Majid Jahangir, Tahsildar & Magistrate of the Board Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin & Administrators Mudassir Iqbal, Ashiq Hussain & others also participated in the meeting. The financial approval for many new projects was granted by the Board. The Board also approved the implementation of National Education Policy for Waqf educational institutions. Administrative reforms for Waqf institutions were also adopted.   Speaking to media after the meeting Dr Andrabi said that the Board took very significant futuristic decisions which will undoubtedly help us in creating a more conducive working system within the Board. “With our earlier measures, we have succeeded in enhancing our income souces significantly and new decisions will add to this success story. Soon Waqf Board will be a productive body which will initiate public welfare projects on a big scale. I thank the people of J&K who supported Waqf reforms and also thank the Waqf Board staff for their tireless services”, said Dr Darakhshan. “We have to go a long way to come out of the effects of the rot which was nourished within the Board for decades. So we seek the public support in future too so that a complete clean up is ensured. Our tough decisions are only for collective good and for making this body a trustworthy public institution serving our religious, spiritual places and assets associated with them,”, said Waqf Board Chairperson. She said that tougher decisions will continue till we get hundred percent approval of our work from the same population of J&K.
