Appeals LG to regularise small businesses establishments and residential property of poor people on state land

Jammu, Feb 2 : Nuzhat Ishfaq, Chairperson, District Development Council, Ganderbal accompanied by former Legislator, Ishfaq Jabbar on Tuesday met Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and appealed him to spare the poor and common masses during the ongoing anti-encroachment drive going on across J&K.

In a statement issued, the duo requested the Lt- Governor that those people who have occupied few marlas of land should be given some relaxation and a process should be started to regularise it against which the government can also charge some minimum fees from these people but should avoid demolition of  houses and businesses units of poor people.

The duo said that the issue should be handled on humanitarian ground and there should not be injustice as well, however the big fishes involved in encroachment of the state land should be dealt with very strictly, they added.

 

Both the leaders said that the LG has assured them that a set of parameters shall be decided under which the small business establishments and residential houses of poor and middle class people will be regularised and an order in this regard will be issued soon.
