Srinagar, Feb 1 : Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested a drug peddler in Awantipora and recovered contraband substance from his possession, officials.
An official told Kashmir Bulletin–(KB), that a police party led by incharge police post Reshipora intercepted a suspicious person near Dogripora. During checking, officers were able to recover 150 grams of Charas like powder from his possession.
“He has identified the person as Yasir Ahmad Dar son of Gulzar Ahmad Dar resident of Dogripora. He has been arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody,” he said.
Accordingly, “a case vide FIR No. 13/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora and investigation has been initiated.”
“Moreover, community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood, he said
