National Girl Child Day celebrated at Ganderbal

Ganderbal , Jan 24: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Mission Shakti Ganderbal in collaboration with Mission Vatsalya and ICDS department today celebrated National Girl Child day at ICDS office Duderhama, here.

Programme was attended by almost 100 women including CDPO block Ganderbal, Supervisors, AWWs, Helpers and adolescent girls of block Ganderbal.

On the occasion awareness was spread about the rights of girls and the inequalities that they face in their lives were also highlighted besides the participants were also apprised of the importance of female education, health and nutrition.

The team informed that gender inequality is one of the major issues that are needed to be focused on and it exists in several areas.
