 J&K Football Association Meeting with the President of AIFF

New Delhi, Jan 19 :J&K Football Association is pleased to announce that it had a successful meeting with the President of the All India Football Federation (AIFF),  Kalyan Chaubey. The meeting, which took place on 18th January 2023, had the goal of discussing the process of Elections and ways to further promote and develop the sport of football in J&K UT. The President congratulated  Wasim Aslam Chairman JKFA (Elections ) And Professor Bashir Ahmad Shah  General Secretary JKFA for successfully conducting and completing the elections of Kashmir Valley (16 DFAs/Zones) in a transparent and fair manner under secret ballot and wished for the same in Jammu Division.

During the meeting, both parties discussed various topics such as the Elections, increasing youth participation, developing grassroots programs and introducing girls football development programs. The President also briefed about the scope and footprints for propagating girl’s football development programs in the country. And He was very glad to learn about the conclusion of J&K Police Martyr’s football tournament, Sheher-e-Khas tournament, Industrial tournament at Sopore (by Javaid Ahmad, Sports Promoter with JKFA/JKSC) and many other grassroot activities, programs and many football activities in collaboration with J&K Sports Council. He praised the efforts of Chairman JKFA Elections Wasim Aslam and his body including Professor Bashir Ahmad Shah, General Secretary JKFA and Nazir Ahmad Bhat, HOR JKFA for hosting multiple successful programs under the banner of JKFA.

The President of the AIFF shared his vision for Indian football, Road-Map VISION 2047 in which he mentioned Downtown Srinagar and showed a keen interest in working with J&K Football Association to achieve these goals. Shri Kalyan also emphasized the role of J&K Sports Council to promote the game of football and also informed that AIFF is set to sign a MOU with J&K Sports Council through JKFA for uplifting and the benefit of players in the UT.

Kalyan spoke very highly about the footballing abilities of J&K UT and stressed support for the need to use football for generating sustainable mode of employment by reviving departmental teams and services teams. He explained that AIFF has prepared a specific roadmap for developing football in J&K UT consisting of coach education, referee development programs and hosting of different youth and senior tournaments.

“We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to meet with the President of the AIFF and discuss ways to grow the sport of football in J&K U.T. With his leadership and support, we believe that we can make a significant impact in the development of football,” said Wasim Aslam.
J&K Football Association is committed to promoting and developing the sport of football in J&K and looks forward to working with the AIFF to achieve this goal.
