DC B’la chairs DLTC meeting for approval of SoF for 2023-24

Baramulla, Jan 16: In order to finalize the Scale of Finance (SoF) for the year 2023-24 for Agriculture, Horticulture and other allied sectors, a meeting of District Level Technical Committee (DLTC) was today held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar at her office chamber here.

On the occasion, the participants deliberated on various factors like input prices and market prices of commodities for assessing the Scale of Finance in order to provide short term loans to the farmers in the shape of Working Capital for various field crops.

Information was also shared with the attendees on the prices of various sub items such as fodder, fertilizer, pesticides, labour value addition and manure etc for growing the crops and maintenance of dairy animals.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sehrish said that agriculture and allied sectors are the backbone of sustenance and an important economic activity and the credit facility to the farmers will be instrumental in boosting the sector. She directed the banks to be liberal in lending these small loans to farmers without any delays.

The DC directed the officers to ensure maximum coverage of the farmer beneficiaries under the Government schemes and PMEGP. She directed the Floriculture officer to identify at least one beneficiary in every block of Baramulla district for sponsoring them under different schemes so that maximum avenues for earning livelihood are generated.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, District Floriculture Officer, Chief Manager C&APD, LDM JKB, DDM NABARD, besides other functionaries of concerned departments.
