ADC Gbl discusses augmentation of power infra in Sub-Division Kangan

Ganderbal, Jan 13: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Ganderbal, Mehraj-ud-Din Shah today convened a meeting of officers to discuss the possibility of commissioning/installation of 6.3 MVA Transformer available at Kangan Power House.

After threadbare discussion and report submitted by the committee constituted for the purpose after field visit,  it was given out that the augmentation of 6.3MVA Transformer (available at site) in place of existing 3.15 MVA Transformer is not technically feasible as same will result in outages in Kangan Power house which is not desirable at this juncture of time.

In order to resolve the issue, the committee members proposed short term and long term solutions which will ensure hassle free power supply to Kangan market as well as Kangan Power House.

It was given out that a separate 11 KV feeder shall be laid from 2x10MVA Kangan receiving station for which DPR of Rs 9.6 lakh Stands proposed which will cater most of the domestic load on existing feeder emanating from Kangan Power House.

SE KPDCL informed that a separate receiving station of capacity 6.3 MVA, 33/11 KV adjacent to Kangan Power House on the other side of road on PDC Land for which DPR amounting to Rs 2.47 Crore Stands proposed and same shall be reflected in the next financial years UT Capex Budget which shall ensure shifting of all domestic as well as commercial load from existing 3.15 MVA Kangan Power House receiving station, thus relieving Power House from forced shut downs as well resolving issue of hassle free power to local population.

The meeting was further informed that the land has been identified by the committee for which ADC exhorted for carrying necessary formalities at an earliest so that the proposed works are taken-up immediately once approved.
