DC B’la reviews progress of District under Aspirational District Programme

Initiatives need to be taken for 100% saturation in all Indicators/ Sectors: Dr Sehrish

Baramulla, Jan 10: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress achieved under different indicators of Aspirational District Programme, here.

The meeting held threadbare discussion and reviewed the progress achieved under Health, Education, Agriculture, Financial inclusion, Household Electrification, Water resources, Roads, Sanitation, Drinking Water, Internet Connectivity, Common Services Centre, Process Digitization and Skill Development.

After taking a comprehensive review of all the sectors, Dr Sehrish projected that initiatives need to be taken by all departments to reach 100% saturation across the district.

While taking a review of progress of the Health department, the DC directed Chief Medical Officer Baramulla to speed up the completion of OT’s in Sub District Hospital Sopore and involve already roped NGOs in patient centric services. The DC also exhorted upon the Principal, Government Medical College Baramulla to keep the institute in hygienic condition and focus on quality Health Care Services.

While expressing satisfaction for oil and seeds production in the district by 25% in the last couple of years, the DC urged the concerned functionaries of the Agriculture Department that the community involvement may be taken to its maximum for employment of youth for progressive farming.

During the meeting, other related sectors were also thoroughly discussed including water resources, Internet Connectivity, Skill Development during which DC stressed upon the concerned officers to redouble their efforts so that targets fixed could be achieved within the stipulated time frame.

Joint Director Planning M Yousuf Rather, Principal GMC (Prof) Dr Ruby Reshi, SEs of PHE & JKPDCL, Chief Medical Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development and other District Officers attended the meeting.
